Hey y'all!
Hope you're sitting pretty, happy, healthy, well & warm:-)
So... my next song came out today!
"Gumboots" is a Folk Reggae, we-will-get-through-together, post-pandemic tune about getting through whatever may be - written during COVID, in my parents' Metro Vancouver suburban basement... It applies to any situation that calls for us to come together and work together and rise up.

Merry Reggae Christmas!
How many of you have wanted to get your partner a great Christmas (or Hanukkah, or birthday) gift, but year after year, the bills keep going up and the bank account keeps going down?
My best and longest love relationship was with a guy who loved reggae and surfing. I kept thinking I'd have money to buy him a stellar gift - a trip, maybe, or a fun adventure, even just some cool surf gear and a nice dinner.
We both volunteered and travelled internationally, and mostly not in the same places. Neither of us had much money, despite working hard, and what we had, we spent on travel - travel and recording in my case.
It didn't always work out, being in the same place - one spring he was in university in Beijing and I was vagabonding through Central America - but I managed to join him once in Burma. After which, he joined me (and surfed) in Sri Lanka. Another time, after I'd reorganized an AIDS clinic in Zimbabwe, he joined me (and surfed) in South Africa.
All this to say, years of reggae listening - as well as his hopeful nudges to write a reggae song - inspired me to write this reggae Christmas song.
"Nothing But Love" is a happy, hopeful, upbeat, quirky, reflective & fun tune that reflects on life, money, Christmas, family, giving, romance, relationships & LOVE.

Hey!
Very happy to say that there have been two Top 10 singles in the Indigenous Music Countdown since last December:
"You Are Light (Lynne's Song)" - my tribute to my sweet mama, made #7 and #2 in December 2022.
And "Freight Train (Mother Hubbard mix)" - my friend Glen Hubbard's remix of "Freight Train" hit #6 this August 2023.
I also recorded three new singles in SPANISH/español this Aug-Sep in Tenerife, España with a fabulous producer/writer, Fabio Harmanus. What a treat and amazing time it was learning about different phrasings, pronunciations, themes of Latin Pop and Latin Urban music.
Live well, and listen to great music friends!
