Autumn Breeze
Hello Autumn!

Autumn already. My goodness.

Get ready for tomorrow night!

Oct. 1 is One Night: Mazatlán Meets Langley!
I am excited to play with stellar players - keyboardist Rob Lamonica and guitarist Ignacio Chávez of Mazatlán group "RIO" - at Newlands Bar & Grill in the hometown: Langley.

I've also played some fun and unique gigs over the past few months:
In Vancouver:
- a special Full Circle: First Nations Performance event, Richmond Maritime Festival, West End & Drive Car Free events and opened for Ontario's Tom Savage at The Heatley!

On Vancouver Island:
- INDIGIFEST (First Peoples' Cultural Council festival), Builders on the Bridge fundraiser put on by Vancouver Island Construction Association in support of Another Brick in Nepal & a sweet private party in Mill Bay.

Up next:
Oct 4-5 Vancouver Island Film Festival (VIFF) AMP Accelerator: Music in Film/TV conference

Nov 7-10: PENDING: really hope to attend the TAXI Road Rally in Los Angeles and stay at #SOCAN LA House

Otherwise... working on songs and getting ready to record the next album!

Stay warm,

About

"Female Songwriter of the Year" (Vancouver Island Music Awards 2012) "Most Outstanding Musician" (Denver Festival 1991)

Boho chic soul folk carried by dangerous lyrics, hypnotic grooves, and a seductive voice.

Singer-songwriter Sandy Powlik has been turning heads for years. From fronting a 17-piece big band to co-founding and being sole lyricist for original folk rock group, Sonnenblume, to running the show for over a decade as Lola Parks – she continually progresses and evolves. There has never been as much momentum, traction and BUZZ around this leading songstress as there is today.

A multi-award winner, including “Most Outstanding Musician – Vocal Jazz" and “Female Songwriter of the Year” (and The Q’s “Band of the Year” with her first band, Sonnenblume), her 2011 release, Here, garnered three Vancouver Island Music Awards nominations and continues to receive international attention and grace playlists.

“All This Time,” the first track off new release, The Hustle (2017), is CBC’s all-new “The Early Edition” theme song. “Trouble with Me,” the most popular track off Here (2011), was featured in the indie film, The Orchard, and short film, Ryan & Lola. And her song, “When Comes the Change” (1999) aired on TV’s Higher Ground.

She has performed on five continents, led several Western Canada tours with her trio and shared billing with numerous Grammy and Juno award winners and nominees.

Adjectives used to describe Parks’ music include sultry, organic, natural, jazz-infused, smooth, soulful, genuine, honest, evocative, dangerous, and fun.

Discography: Sonnenblume (1999), Rocktoria 9 Compilation (1999), Borderlands Vol. 1 (2001), Lola Parks (2003), Here (2011) and The Hustle (2017).

Follow, stream and add Lola Parks on SPOTIFY, playlists and YouTube today! Don't miss this mesmerizing act!
